Chesterfield CigarettesChesterfield cigarettes were created by Drummond Tobacco Company of St. Louis, Missouri in 1873. Chesterfield is a known brand manufactured and launched by Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company during 1911 until 1998.
Drummond and Liggett & Myers sided with each other against American Tobacco in the ‘plug tobacco war’ during 1897 and 1898. Liggett & Myers was incorporated in the trust of ATC in October 1898 and the production of Chesterfield; the trust was dissolved in 1911 and it ceased the production of Chesterfield also. A new look was given to Chesterfield by L&M and it was launched in competition to Camel Cigarette brand in the year 1913. Chesterfield is currently under manufacture of the famous Philip Morris.
